WHAT WE DO
Each program is a direct response to a specific failure of the system Duke survived. Nothing abstract. All four are running now.
Working with Gary, IN landlords, the city, and faith leaders to convert blighted blocks into transitional housing for returning citizens and at-risk families.
A 20-week one-on-one mentorship program — named for Duke's undefeated record. Pairs kids ages 10–17 with vetted adult mentors and provides academic support, athletics, and family advocacy.
Direct correspondence with currently incarcerated men and women — the same lifeline Duke received. Includes pen-pal matching, GED tutoring by mail, and clemency petition help with partner attorneys.
Monthly community meals in Gary and Indianapolis for men and women in their first 90 days home. Food, fellowship, and a direct line to housing, employment, and counseling resources.
